Programs and Courses of Vocational Diploma in Security sciences:


The vocational diploma in security sciences has a program consisting of twelve courses that meet the work needs as well as the development and rehabilitation of Palestinian security, military and police institutions. This program has no counterpart at domestic educational and training institutes.
The courses have been designed to bring all the aspects related to professional scientific and practical habilitation together in order to promote the scientific and practical competence, in addition to increasing the experience of all those joining this field. It is hoped that this will lead to develop the concepts and methods linked with security tasks. The participants are to be provided with up – to – date knowledge, experience and modern skills all of which should enable them to tackle the security profession quite efficiently so that they will be good examples to follow. Thus, they will perform their national duties honestly and faithfully.
Later, they will hopefully protect their Palestinian community in terms of security and stability.
The diploma program is distributed to three main parts all of which aim to provide the participants with the required knowledge and skills for comprehensive rehabilitation:
• First: Military Training.
• Second: Security Training.
• Third: Academic Courses.
Description of Courses
* Military Training:
This starts with introduction to military sciences and includes contemporary concepts of the military sciences, war, strategy, military tactics, military discipline, topography, military leadership and management.
Further, it includes basic military training such as: infantry, battalion, fitness, assembling and disconnecting light weapons and other advanced skills in the military science as well.
* Introduction to Security Science
This Course covers the formation and development of the concept of security and its comprehensiveness and various levels as well as its theories. It also deals with the bases and strategies of security across the nation, the dimensions of security, the sources of threat and protection alongside the ways of achieving national security.
In addition, it tackles conceptions, contents and methods of organizing domestic, national, regional and international security. It also covers the theory of Israel security, a primary vision towards the formation of the concept of the Palestinian national security.
The practical part and skills cover subjects such as discipline, intelligence work, procedures of private security safety and protection of information, the institution, individuals, communications as well as personalities, the security science, security and management, written reports, the economic security, the essence and sources of information and ways of collecting it, its analysis and investment. 

* IT Serving Security Persons
This course covers information technology, computing elements and programmes, skills in office programmes the information family (internet, e-mail and chat), the information safety and its computerizing, the process of black out and coding and the role of technology, computerized information systems in security work and crime fighting.
* Public Relations and Security Media
This Course deals with the essence of public relations, public relations and security and the role of public relations in crises. In addition, the security media and the public opinion, the tasks of security media, the procedures of security media, and the security propaganda in the information age.
* Crises Management and Negotiations
This covers management, mass communication skills, the basic concepts of security and political crises. In addition, the strategies and tactics of negotiations, the essence, conditions and methods of the successful negotiator, the role of interest, mediation and arbitration in negotiations, as well as theories of games, bargaining and negotiating skills.
* Parties and Political Movements:
This Course deals with the birth and development of the Palestinian political movements in the aftermath of the catastrophe, the formation and development of the Palestine Liberation Organization (P.L.O) and the Islamic movements on the Palestinian arena. In addition; the role of the PLO factions and Islamic parties in the Palestinian national struggle and in the political process. It also tackles the differences between the national and Islamic movements and the impacts of external developments on the Palestinian parties and other political movements as well as the status and the role e of the PLO bodies in the current political process and the Palestinian political system.
* Security Information:
This course deals with sources of information, the process of recruitment and its phases, the security information and communication, the security interview as well as the security, political  and criminal investigation.
* Tourist Security:
This tackles the historical development of tourist security, its fields and its basic concepts, the security procedures to protect tourism and ruins. It also deals with types of tourism and its pivots, tourism globalization, the link between tourism and security. In addition, tourism media and crises, the safety of tourist sites, the economic dimension of tourist security and tourist crimes.
* Terrorism:
This course tackles the concept and forms of terrorism, the causes of terrorism, violence and extremisms, the techniques and technologies used by terrorists. In addition, the national and Islamic position towards terrorism, the necessary measures to deal with the phenomenon of violence and extremism as well as the efforts done to fight terrorism at all national and international levels.
* Democracy and Human Rights:
This course deals with democracy in terms of its concept, characteristics, basis, types and forms, the powers and the principle of separation between them as well as the concepts of multiplicity, law dominance, peaceful alternation of power and the link between freedom and the regime, as well as the role of the authority in democratic systems.
Further, it tackles the concept of freedom and human rights in Palestinian and international legislations, human rights in Islam, the role of security bodies in protecting human rights, discipline, and good manners. In addition, the liability of order and law, the secure legal procedures when dealing with the citizen, as well as the security measures to protect human rights.
* Hebrew:
This course deals with the Hebrew language teaching, structures, skills of reading and writing at two levels throughout two semesters. The student should be able to command and employ the language in translation, conversation and text writing.
* Non – curricular Activities:
Here, various topics of humanities are dealt with, namely politics, sociology and administrative leadership through a three – dimension program: cognitive, emotional and psycho- kinetic.
The participant employs a large variety of activities and performances which aim to achieve integration in the teaching / learning process.
The course deals with objectives and purposes of administrative training , promoting thinking , competence and professionalism as well as job morals , types of leadership and characters , the administrative leader , promoting team work , time management , authority deputizing , planning and assessment , the technique of dealing with the public and information patterns design . Further, it includes transfer and exchange of experiences, time investing exploring, governmental policies and its formal attitudes, the Palestinian popularity from its origins, as well as conducting various activities on national occasions.
