Prof. Dr. Saleh Abu Osba, the President of Al-Istiqlal University, received a delegation from the Chinese "Jiangxi Normal University" headed by Mr. Xiao, the Director of the Confucius Institute at Al-Quds University - Abu Dis, to discuss possible ways of cooperation, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Sobou, the deputy for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Halasa, the dean of University centers, Dr. Mohammed Najajreh, the director of the Center for International Languages and Cultures, Dr. Hani Aweidat, the director of the library of the martyr Khaled Al-Hassan, and Dr. Alaa Al-Shanti, the Assistant to the President for Communications.
Prof. Dr. Abu Osba welcomed the guest delegation, stressing the depth of the historical ties that unite Palestine with China, its supportive stance for the Palestinian cause, and the importance of consolidating relations with Chinese universities on the civil and military levels.
Furthermore, he pointed out the possibility of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, expressing his aspiration to provide postgraduate scholarships in many fields such as law and information technology, to raise the level of officers and graduates and provide them with advanced linguistic and cognitive and training skills.
Moreover, the guest expressed his happiness at the meeting, and the readiness to open up prospects for partnership between the two sides, and to discuss aspects of future cooperation, within the scope of deepening the bridges of the bilateral relationship, calling on Prof. Dr. Abu Osba to visit China to see his university closely.
For his part, Dr. Halasa referred to the most prominent fields that would enhance cooperation, including student and academic exchange programs, the solar energy project, and courses to teach the Chinese language and culture.
In conclusion, an introductory film was presented about the University's vision and mission, and the delegation was taken on a field tour to see the facilities and projects under implementation.
